**Job Overview:**

The Transmission Line Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing the structural assembly and erection of transmission tower structures for high-voltage transmission line projects. This role involves ensuring quality, environmental, and safety management, implementing project safety plans, managing construction activities, coordinating teams, resolving on-site issues, and overseeing operational coordination.

  • Quality, Environmental, and Safety Management:
  • Ensure integration of quality, environmental, and safety procedures, including compliance with WHS regulations, defect resolution, and promotion of a safety culture among project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Project Safety Oversight:
  • Implement and enforce the Project Safety Plan, monitor high-risk activities, investigate incidents, and liaise with safety authorities to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Construction Supervision:
  • Manage transmission line construction activities, ensuring work aligns with schedules, budgets, and technical specifications while coordinating teams and resolving on-site issues.
  • Operational Coordination:
  • Oversee foundation works, tower erection, and conductor stringing, ensuring adherence to design criteria and best practices while leading site teams and subcontractors.
  • Scheduling and Reporting:
  • Monitor project progress, maintain schedules, prepare status reports, and resolve project challenges to meet deadlines and milestones.
  • Financial Accountability:
  • Manage project costs, monitor financial performance, and ensure profitability through accurate cost forecasting and strategic financial planning.
  • Contract and Compliance Management:
  • Ensure adherence to contract requirements, negotiate subcontractor agreements, and collaborate with commercial managers on legal and administrative aspects.
  • Design and Performance Management:
  • Oversee project design development, monitor consultant performance, conduct site meetings, and foster staff training to enhance operational efficiency.

**Requirements:**

  • 10 years' experience in a construction/engineering environment
  • Experience working in high-voltage transmission projects (330 kV and above) is an advantage
  • Expertise in foundation construction, tower erection, and conductor stringing
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
  • Strong problem-solving/analytical skills
  • Demonstrated relevant leadership skills
  • Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied
  • Competent in planning and organizing work schedules
  • Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation
