Job Overview

An ideal candidate will lead the Transmission Lines team and oversee the structural assembly and erection of transmission tower structures, ensuring safe, efficient work that complies with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Integrate quality, environmental, and safety procedures, including WH&S compliance, defect resolution, and promoting a culture of safety among project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Implement and enforce the Project Safety Plan, monitor high-risk activities, investigate incidents, and liaise with safety authorities to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage transmission line construction activities, ensuring work aligns with schedules, budgets, and technical specifications while coordinating teams and resolving on-site issues.
  • Oversee foundation works, tower erection, and conductor stringing, ensuring adherence to design criteria and best practices while leading site teams and subcontractors.
  • Ensure efficient allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials, coordinating logistics to prevent project delays and optimizing supply chain operations.
  • Monitor project progress, maintain schedules, prepare status reports, and resolve project challenges to meet deadlines and milestones.
  • Manage project costs, monitor financial performance, and ensure profitability through accurate cost forecasting and strategic financial planning.
  • Ensure adherence to contract requirements, negotiate subcontractor agreements, and collaborate with commercial managers on legal and administrative aspects.
  • Oversee project design development, monitor consultant performance, conduct site meetings, and foster staff training to enhance operational efficiency.
Candidate Criteria
  • 10 years' experience in a construction/engineering environment preferred.
  • Experience in high-voltage transmission projects (330 kV and above) is an advantage.
  • Expertise in foundation construction, tower erection, and conductor stringing required.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and possess problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Leadership skills and regulatory compliance knowledge essential.
  • Ability to plan and organize work schedules and understand health, safety, and environment requirements.
