Freedom of Information Officer

The primary function of this role is to oversee Freedom of Information requests and provide expert guidance on related matters. This position plays a crucial part in the overall process improvement project, aimed at streamlining internal procedures and enhancing responsiveness.
The key responsibilities of the role may include:
- Assessing and processing FOI requests in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 1982.
- Providing authoritative advice as a delegate of the Secretary in making decisions under the FOI Act.
- Collaborating with different FOI teams to offer guidance and specialist advice to various business units.
- Preparing executive briefings on FOI-related matters.
- Liaising with stakeholders from across the department and the community.
- Process and respond to FOI requests efficiently.
- Provide accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Initiative and accountability.
- A flexible approach to work.
A tertiary qualification in law, public administration or a similar field is desirable.
