We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Hand to join our team at the Aronui Feedlot. This role is essential for ensuring the effective maintenance of our feedlot operations. Responsibilities include the operation and upkeep of machinery, water systems, fabrication, and welding tasks. The Maintenance Hand will also collaborate with the maintenance manager to implement preventive maintenance strategies and uphold high standards for animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regular cleaning and maintenance of pen surfaces.
- Managing manure within fence lines.
- Transporting manure to designated stockpiles.
- Conducting mechanical repairs and maintenance on feedlot, feedmill, farm equipment, and vehicles.
- Adhering to workplace health and safety protocols.
- Maintaining a tidy and efficient workshop environment.
- Following a structured Maintenance Program for all vehicles, plant, and machinery.
- Performing routine services and overhauls, and executing repairs using power tools, welders, and air tools as necessary.
- Fabricating, welding, and assembling structural metal components.
- Working to precise tolerances.
- Co-managing the procurement of spare parts, oils, and fuels for the feedlot.
- Operating machinery as needed.
- Assisting with the general upkeep of buildings and structures, including conducting routine checks and services on equipment.
- Supporting the production and manufacturing of lick blocks.
- Providing assistance to the livestock crew with animal health and processing when required.
