At AGL Macquarie, our team is dedicated to operating and maintaining the power station and equipment required to run the power plant. As an Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring that all activities are carried out safely and efficiently.

We have multiple opportunities for skilled Operators to join our team working at our Bayswater power station in NSW. Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will utilise your skills and qualifications to undertake tasks such as administration, maintenance, scheduling and plant operation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail and exceptional approach to safety, with the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the shift manager and senior staff to safely operate plant and equipment
  • Carrying out isolation of plant and equipment
  • Preparing, issuing and clearing Permits to Work
  • Collaborating with other staff to undertake tasks relevant to the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Assisting and participating in training and personnel development activities
  • Conducting routine plant inspections and carrying out condition monitoring
  • Identifying, investigating and prioritising defects and failures

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A trade or diploma qualification in an electrical or mechanical field or engineering degree in a related discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working in the power generation industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe and efficient operation within the power generation industry
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices, environmental responsibilities and a strong workplace safety culture
