Job Title: Direct Care Attendant

Job Description:

As a Direct Care Attendant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate support to residents in our Residential Care Home. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents with their daily needs, ensuring they receive the highest quality care and support.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, led by the Nurse Unit Manager, to provide person-centered care to residents. This includes assisting with personal care, meal preparation, and supporting residents with their activities of daily living.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct client services to residents in the Residential Care Home
  • Work under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager, collaborating with health professionals to support residents' wellbeing and daily needs
  • Assist residents with personal care, meal preparation, and activities of daily living
  • Contribute to a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where residents can thrive

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • AQF Certificate III relevant to the position (WHA4)
  • Proven experience in exercising own judgment and initiative in the day-to-day execution of a position
  • Experience in the provision of a direct care service in a health-related field
  • Experience in dealing with aged, frail or disabled persons
  • Experience in the use of computer packages, e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel
