Energy and Resources Lawyer Opportunity

This challenging role involves providing legal advice to clients in the energy and resources sector. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial, property or rural/agribusiness law and will be able to negotiate agreements for coal seam gas, mining and exploration activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Negotiating renewable energy projects for landholders;
  • Providing advice on matters under the Water Act including representation in the Land Court and assistance with Make Good Agreements;
  • Reviewing and advising on rural lease agreements, compulsory acquisition and other related matters;
  • Carbon abatement and offset agreements;
  • Vegetation management; and
  • Water resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate agreements for various energy and resources projects;
  • Provide expert legal advice on complex matters;
  • Represent clients in the Land Court and other forums;
  • Assist with the review and negotiation of contracts;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders;
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in the energy and resources sector.

Requirements:
