Job Overview

The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of an effective Human Resources strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives through strategic leadership and people strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive organisational success by providing expert leadership to the HR function and partnering with senior leadership to implement HR initiatives that meet business needs.
  • Lead, coach, and support HR team members and frontline leaders to build capability and accountability, while managing enterprise bargaining agreement (EBA) negotiations and fostering positive union relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace legislation, industrial relations frameworks, and safety standards through proactive monitoring and mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee recruitment, retention, professional development, and talent management strategies to ensure a skilled and engaged workforce.
  • Maintain and enhance HR systems and update policies and procedures in line with legislation to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Prepare and present detailed board-level reports and strategic analysis to inform business decision-making.
Requirements
  • Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field is required, along with 5-10 years' HR experience and strong knowledge of industrial relations, EBAs, and union engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong reporting and board presentation abilities, are essential for success in this role.
  • A practical, people-centred, and resilient leader with the ability to balance strategy and hands-on delivery is required to excel in this position.
