Key Roles and Responsibilities

As a Commercial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in our organization. You will be responsible for analyzing large datasets related to electricity markets to uncover critical trends and patterns.

  • Build, refine, and maintain forecasting models for energy prices and market risk evaluation
  • Collaborate closely with traders to enhance trading strategies and risk management practices
  • Design and implement custom software tools to streamline market analysis and automate reporting workflows
  • Partner with internal teams and stakeholders to continuously enhance market analytics and forecasting capabilities

You will have the opportunity to work on various projects, including:

  • Analyzing market data to identify opportunities and risks
  • Developing and maintaining forecasting models
  • Collaborating with traders to optimize trading strategies
Skills and Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as Economics, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Practical experience working with the AEMO MMS Database is a must
  • Solid understanding of electricity market fundamentals, including pricing mechanisms, market structure, and regulatory frameworks
  • Proficient in software development, with experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, R, or C++
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in handling large and complex datasets
