We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Control Systems Engineer to join our team at WSP Global Inc. in Australia. As a key member of our Generation & New Energy team, you will play a critical role in the design and delivery of industrial control systems and communication systems for power stations.
As a technical leader, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in power generation, including thermal and renewable generation. You will lead the design of power station control and instrumentation systems, including PLC and DCS based systems, functional safety systems, and EEHA designs.
You will also be responsible for conducting and leading design of control and protection system communication systems, including DCS data highways, control system networks, and IEC 61850 protection networks. Additionally, you will collaborate in the design of power station secondary systems in coordination with electrical engineers.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent, and be a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPENG) with registration (RPEQ, RPEV). You will also need to have significant experience in thermal and renewable generation, as well as demonstrated delivery of complex power generation projects.
You will be a competent risk manager, with high-level skills in applying safety in design practices and processes. You will also be able to prepare and review high-level and complex technical reports, and have experience in business development and supervising graduates and managing engineers and senior engineers.
