This role offers the opportunity to work on the frontline of animal and plant health, pest and weed management, and biosecurity response and recovery efforts. As a Biosecurity Officer, you'll deliver on-ground biosecurity programs that safeguard our region from threats to agriculture and the environment.

About The Role
  • Fieldwork and compliance tasks are undertaken in relation to pest animals, weeds, and disease management.
  • Support for emergency response, surveillance and disease investigations is provided.
  • Strong relationships with landholders, communities and stakeholders are built.
  • The management of Travelling Stock Reserves (TSRs) and biosecurity recovery projects is supported.
  • Accurate records are maintained and program evaluation is supported.

Key responsibilities include working independently and in a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, communicating effectively, and providing excellent customer service and community engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pest and weed management, and biosecurity principles, as well as appropriate certifications or the ability to obtain them. A current NSW Driver Licence is also required.
