About the Role

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Agricultural Biosecurity Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our biosecurity program, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our region from threats to agriculture and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake fieldwork and compliance tasks related to pest animals, weeds, and disease management
  • Support emergency response, surveillance and disease investigations
  • Build strong relationships with landholders, communities and stakeholders
  • Help manage Travelling Stock Reserves (TSRs) and biosecurity recovery projects
  • Maintain accurate records and support program evaluation
Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for someone who possesses a strong understanding of pest and weed management, and biosecurity principles. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. They must also have excellent communication skills and a strong focus on customer service and community engagement.

  • Strong understanding of pest and weed management, and biosecurity principles

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong focus on customer service and community engagement
  • Appropriate certifications or the ability to obtain them (e.g. pesticide qualifications, firearms licence, Cert IV in Government Investigations)
  • Holds a current NSW Driver Licence and is open to travel
