Sustainable agriculture plays a vital role in maintaining ecological balance and promoting environmental stewardship. The Limestone Coast Landscape Board seeks to appoint a highly skilled Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator to enhance knowledge sharing and adoption of climate-resilient practices within the agricultural sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering extension services to farmers, land managers, and industry stakeholders, fostering collaborative partnerships and driving sustainable outcomes through workshops, events, and training programs.

A key aspect of this role is working closely with members of the Sustainable Landscapes team to achieve organizational priorities, particularly education and partnership initiatives focused on landscape sustainability and primary production growth.

To excel in this position, applicants should possess strong communication skills, the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders, and a deep understanding of sustainable agriculture principles and practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement extension strategies to improve knowledge and uptake of climate-smart practices among agricultural stakeholders
  • Foster collaborative relationships with farmers, land managers, agri-businesses, and industry bodies to promote sustainable farming outcomes
  • Design and deliver training programs aimed at upskilling stakeholders in carbon and biodiversity markets
  • Cultivate partnerships with relevant organizations to leverage resources and expertise in achieving sustainable agriculture objectives

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the region's landscape management and contribute to the Australian Government's goals for sustainable agriculture and natural resource management.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (agriculture, environmental science, or related discipline)
  • Proven experience in sustainable agriculture, extension services, or a related field
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel and participate in out-of-hours work, including overnight absences
What We Offer:
  • A rewarding career in sustainable agriculture, contributing to regional development and environmental stewardship
  • Opportunities for professional growth and skill development through training programs and partnerships
  • Flexible work arrangements, including remote work options, to support work-life balance
  • Meaningful recognition and rewards for outstanding performance and contributions
