
Career Development Specialist

The Department of Education is seeking a dedicated and innovative Career Practitioner to join our team. As a specialist teacher, you will support the career development of students and work collaboratively with school leadership to embed career development and industry-linked activities into curricular and co-curricular programs.
This is an exciting opportunity for teachers with an interest in student career pathways. Our Career Practitioner will ideally have a teaching load of at least 0.4 FTE and up to 0.6 FTE. They will implement programs and provide resources to embed career development across learning areas, working innovatively and collaboratively across the school.
To be competitive for this role, a high level of knowledge about the diversity of career pathways, with an understanding of tertiary entrance contexts, local employers, community agencies, and training providers is desirable. Career Practitioners are also expected to have strong communication skills and be able to liaise with and share information easily with students, staff, parents, and local industry.
Key Responsibilities:

- Implement programs and provide resources to support career development across learning areas.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and local industry partners to develop career pathways for students.
