Executive Leader for West Arnhem Primary Health Care
About the RoleThe Director of Medical Services is a key position within the primary health care leadership team, responsible for leading the development and implementation of medical services in the West Arnhem region. This role requires strategic thinking, strong clinical leadership, and collaboration with local communities and external partners to deliver high-quality primary health care services.
This position involves providing advice on strategic planning and implementation of medical services to the Executive and Board. The successful candidate will share leadership of the Red Lily Health Clinical Governance Framework and lead the delivery of medical services in the West Arnhem communities.
Main Responsibilities- Oversee comprehensive primary health care service delivery and lead a multidisciplinary team.
- Develop and implement systems for clinical care delivery and workforce management.
- Provide medical advice and establish linkages with other health providers for optimum care coordination.
- Lead clinical quality, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Manage and support the professional development of clinical staff.
- Enhance service access and income through Medicare billings and referral pathways optimisation.
- Maintain professional development and compliance with vocational registration requirements.
- Promote a culture that respects and supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' health and wellbeing.
- AHPRA Registered Medical Practitioner.
- RACGP or FACRRM.
- Experience in leadership and coordination.
- Ability to provide clinical services across the remote areas within the West Arnhem region.
- Understanding of continuous quality improvement principles.
- Understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity and Work Health and Safety principles in primary health care.
- Demonstrated computer literacy, particularly in electronic health records.
- Ability to travel to remote areas by road and light aircraft.
- NT Ochre card and Criminal History Clearance.
- Full rights to work in Australia.
Previous experience working in a remote Indigenous health context.
