Assistant Director Leasing

This role is responsible for overseeing the leasing portfolio and supporting the strategic management of government leased properties.

  • Manage lease agreements, lease critical dates, and compliance requirements
  • Contribute to broader property initiatives and operational priorities

The successful candidate will have a sound working knowledge of Commonwealth Property Management Framework (RMG500) and strong knowledge of the Commonwealth National Lease.

They will also possess exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Managing a small team and adapting to shifting priorities within a dynamic, operational environment
  2. Negotiating and administering new leases, renewals, MOUs, and licensing agreements
  3. Monitoring and managing critical lease dates and milestones to ensure compliance and service continuity

Requirements:

  • Sound working knowledge of Commonwealth Property Management Framework (RMG500)
  • Strong knowledge of Commonwealth National Lease
  • Experience leading and managing a small team
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Working Arrangements:

The role is available to Ongoing Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and/or APS employees as a temporary transfer at level and/or a temporary performance (Acting) opportunity for a period of 12 months.
