The Capsules Operator is a critical member of our production team, responsible for ensuring the highest quality products are delivered to our consumers. As a key player in our operations, you will be responsible for general line operations, autonomous maintenance activities, quality inspections, and championing safety in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Activities:
Start-up/Shutdown Procedures
Carry out pre-start-up checks to ensure the area and equipment are clean and safe, and assist in shutting down equipment and the area as per standard operating procedures.
Clean, Inspect, Lubricate (CIL)
Perform CIL activities per standard operating procedures to maintain and return equipment to its original standard, and follow the appropriate escalation procedure in the event of abnormal equipment conditions or safety hazards.
Material Availability
Pick and return packaging and raw materials from warehouse locations to demarcated staging areas per 5S standards on the packing line.
Quality
Perform required quality checks and monitor product quality against set standards, and report any product and packaging defects. Detect process abnormalities quickly and take immediate action to prevent them.
Administration
Conduct effective hand-over activities and accurately record events that have occurred during shift (cases packed/rejects, etc.). Correctly allocate downtime in the Operations and Facilities System and actively participate in Tier 1 and Tier 2 meetings.
- Safety
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all safe practices and systems relevant to the North Rocks site and the legal responsibility placed on team members. Actively participate and contribute to safety discussions to create a safe working environment.
- Workplace Hazards
Knowledge of the potential hazards and risks in the work environment and job activities. Utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products, and equipment relevant to the task to mitigate hazards.
- Environment
Work to reduce and eliminate waste through the correct handling of waste and hazardous materials. Understand the importance of minimizing the impact of operations on health, safety, and the environment.
- Continuous Improvement
Awareness and knowledge of how to use performance measures to identify and prioritize losses in production areas; provide descriptions of problems and monitor processes of line issues. Engage in root cause analysis tools and Workplace Continuous Improvement practices.
- Teamwork
Be a good team member capable of working with a highly effective team; responsible, supportive, and reliable.
- Communication
Ability to effectively communicate issues relating to safety and provide operational observations and inputs to support decision makers by team leaders.
- Physical Ability
Operators require a level of agility to move quickly between workstations, ascend and descend steps often carrying loads. Assembly and control operations also require a level of hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity. Monitoring and quality assurance tasks require an adequate level of sight and smell.
Must be a committed team worker with a strong sense of responsibility and good attention to detail.
Effective communication skills and an agile mindset.

Demonstrate enthusiasm to learn and engage in continuous improvement projects.
