VMware Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced VMware Specialist to support our server and desktop virtualization environments in a highly secure and complex setting. This role will involve managing the virtual environments across multiple networks, ensuring efficient operations, and leading upgrades, patches, and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support, manage, and design VMware server and desktop (Horizon) virtual environments.
  • Implement regular upgrades, patching, and performance improvements for both virtual desktops and servers.
  • Install and configure ICT hardware, using VMware tools to enhance management and user interactions.
  • Develop and update virtualization environment documentation and ensure compliance with security and operational standards.
  • Troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain system performance, responding to user inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Engage in both business as usual (BAU) and project activities while managing competing priorities.
Deliverables:
  • Technical Specifications, Risk Management Plans, and System Status Reports.
  • High-Level and Detailed System Designs.
  • Standard Operating Procedures and Security Impact Assessments.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience in designing, configuring, administering, and managing VMware desktop and server virtualization in complex environments.
  • Expertise in VMware products such as vSphere, vSAN, Horizon/VDI, vRealize, Aria, vCenter, ESXi, and Cloud Foundation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and customer support experience in ICT server and virtualization management.
  • Proven ability to automate VMware administration and management processes.
  • VMware certification (e.g., VCDX, VCAP-DCV Design, Horizon, Cloud, etc.) is essential.
