Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled VMware Consultant to join our team at Strategicpartners. As a VMware Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert-level support and guidance on the design, implementation, and management of VMware virtual environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. VMware Environment Management: Manage and maintain VMware server and desktop virtual environments in the Australian Secret Network (ASN), Customs Secret Network (CSN), and ABF vessel environments.
  2. Infrastructure Upgrades and Patching: Upgrade, patch, and review VMware environment design on a regular basis to ensure the delivery of both virtual desktops and servers.
  3. Hardware and Software Installation: Install and configure ICT hardware, using the suite of VMware tools, services, and components to enable seamless user interactions with guest operating systems.
  4. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Develop and update ASN VMware environments documentation and CSN as needed, and mentor and transfer knowledge to other members of the CSD teams.
  5. Issue Resolution and Support: Respond promptly to sensitive notices, patch VMware products as required, and resolve end-user issues and respond to enquiries across ASN, CSN, and ABF vessel environments.
  6. Best Practices and Process Improvement: Develop, document, and implement VMware infrastructure best practices with automated management solutions to uplift the maturity of platform management and administration processes.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in VMware virtualization and cloud computing.
  • Strong knowledge of VMware tools, services, and components.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines.
