Casual Counsellor Role

We are seeking a motivated and innovative Counsellor to join our multidisciplinary team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering counseling services, including individual, group, and telephone-based sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and care in the effective delivery of counseling services using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for adults presenting with psychiatric disorders.
  • Provides input into the identification, development, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic programs, ensuring they are current and congruent with patient needs.
  • Maintains awareness of admission and discharge criteria for therapeutic programs as directed by Health Funds and associated bodies.

Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant degree qualifications.
  • Current full registration with Counselling Governing Bodies.
  • Previous experience working on an Inpatient and Day Program Mental Health Unit.
  • Experience facilitating group therapy sessions.
  • Sound clinical judgement and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior time management and organisational skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
