Reconciliation Action Plan Specialist

The RAP Specialist will play a pivotal role in crafting and implementing the SCC Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). This position is crucial in advancing our commitment to reconciliation, requiring effective coordination of diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies and programs for SCC. The RAP Specialist will work closely with stakeholders to create a culturally safe and inclusive workforce. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing the Reconciliation Action Plan in alignment with Reconciliation Australia's framework.
  • Assisting in development of awareness training on history, rights, challenges, and practices for First Peoples to support cultural and historical awareness within SCC.
  • Engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to build strong, respectful relationships in support of SCC reconciliation commitments and initiatives.
  • Coordinating events and gathering insights for First Peoples cultural awareness initiatives.
  • Reviewing and enhancing policies related to RAP strategies for SCC in consultation with stakeholders.

Key Qualifications:

  • Cultural awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and issues.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills.
  • Strong project management and administrative skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with executives and as part of a team.
  • Digital proficiency and familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems.
