About the Service – Research, Advocacy and Policy Development The RAPD division has a national focus with responsibility for research and evaluation, business development, policy and advocacy, marketing, communications and engagement, First Nations partnerships and the development and oversight of the RAP.
The RAPD division coordinates action to ensure that organisational systems and processes embed approaches and attitudes that support the cultural safety, access and engagement of the people who use, work at or benefit from Mind's services.
About the role We are seeking a strategic, culturally informed and resourceful Manager – Reconciliation Action plan for a permanent part time (22.8 hours per week) opportunity based in Burnley, Vic.
You will work closely with the RAP Working Group operations and the Executive on the delivery of RAP goals, supporting the embedding of reconciliation activities across the organisation through understanding of equity and cultural safety.
Key responsibilities Lead the development, coordination and implementation of Mind's RAP.
Consult with Elders, community leaders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services, organisations, staff and consumers/carers to ensure that RAP activities incorporate a diverse range of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices and perspectives.
Monitor RAP activities to ensure deadlines are met, and that activities are consistent with best practice approaches to reconciliation and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inclusion and self-determination.
Ensure that formal project reporting is consistent and includes risk management, budget allocation, resourcing and delivery methods.
What you'll bring Tertiary Qualification in health policy, project management, social sciences, psychology, other relevant experience or related field as designated by Mind.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Reconciliation, community, mental health and social issues.
Strong relationship building and networking skills.
Understanding of co-design and self-determination principles and practices and ability to embed throughout project design.
Deep understanding and lived experience of the cultural determinants of health and social and emotional wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
