Aircraft Mechanic Job Overview

This is a high-level aircraft mechanic position that entails the maintenance and repair of various aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical parts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections and repairs on aircraft components, utilizing technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
  • Apply advanced technical expertise to restore equipment functionality and provide guidance to junior technicians on best practices for aircraft repair and inspection techniques.
  • Conduct thorough technical inspections, compute weight and balance records, and perform necessary operational checks to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
  • Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Perform scheduled inspections, assist in special inspections, and conduct limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses.
Requirements:
  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair procedures, as well as the ability to replace and maintain components effectively.
  • Must possess detailed knowledge of unique aircraft tools, including test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
  • Should be able to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Required valid up-to-date A&P license and five years of aviation maintenance experience, with at least five years of rotary wing aircraft experience.
