Aircraft Technical Inspector

Key responsibilities for this position include inspecting complex aircraft structures, structural components, and engines. In addition, maintaining quality control programs at the field level is also required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Inspecting, removing, installing, repairing, replacing, modifying, disassembling, reassembling, and calibrating complex aircraft mechanical and electromechanical systems.
  • Performing receiving, in-process, final quality, flight safety inspections, and functional operational tests during organizational, intermediate, and depot level maintenance, modification, and repair of military tactical aircraft systems or associated components.
  • Approving or rejecting work accomplished by team members to ensure compliance with customer specifications, standards, and technical data.
  • Reviewing and approving locally developed procedures and solutions to complex repair situations.
  • Performing analysis of defects and interpreting quality control rejection and failure trends.
Requirements:
  • Five years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
  • At least one year of experience inspecting MDS aircraft assigned.
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P).
  • Valid FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
  • Security Clearance appropriate to the level required for the work.
