About the Role

As a Senior System Designer, you will play a critical part in crafting secure, scalable, and high-performing systems that align with our strategic goals. You will lead end-to-end system design initiatives, drive innovation, and optimise system performance by collaborating across technical and business teams.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design secure, scalable, and high-performing systems aligned with business goals and industry best practices
  • Lead system design from concept through to implementation, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery
  • Embed security and compliance throughout the development lifecycle
  • Drive innovation through proof-of-concepts and technology recommendations
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure technical solutions meet client and business needs
  • Communicate system design decisions clearly across technical and non-technical teams
  • Foster trusted relationships with clients, vendors, and auditors
  • Guide and mentor teams on system architecture, performance optimisation, and secure design principles
  • Encourage continuous learning, collaboration, and inclusive problem-solving
  • Maintain accurate documentation, system guidelines, and technical standards
  • Lead reviews and assessments to ensure systems remain scalable, maintainable, and high-performing
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and shared accountability

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Around 10 years of experience in software development, including at least 3 years in system design roles
  • Experience designing and building applications using Microsoft .NET technologies (C#, .Net, MVC)
  • Proficient in database development, particularly with MS SQL Server
  • Familiarity with Databricks, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE)
  • Understanding of infrastructure, distributed systems, and cloud environments
  • Comfortable designing secure, scalable solutions that perform well in complex environments
  • Experience working in Agile teams and contributing to CI/CD and automated testing practices
  • A background in financial services, finance, or accounting is a plus
  • Collaborative and self-motivated, with a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
