About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at St Paul's College, a Catholic Special Education school within Villa Maria Catholic Homes (VMCH).
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing specialized services to students with disabilities, supporting their educational goals and promoting social interaction and inclusion.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing occupational therapy programs to improve student functional capacity and participation in daily activities
- Providing consultative services to teachers and other staff members to support student access to programs and daily living skills
- Conducting assessments and developing strategies to address student needs and goals
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized learning plans and promote student progress
- Communicating with parents and caregivers to ensure consistent support and involvement in student care
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent qualification
- Experience working with children with disabilities, preferably in a special education setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- A commitment to child safety and well-being, with the ability to adhere to VMCH's Child Safe Policies and Staff Code of Conduct
