A Traffic Operations Manager plays a vital role in overseeing planning and scheduling functions for traffic teams.

The role involves managing detailed schedules that accurately reflect planned roster of works, plans, and specifications; monitoring and updating the works programs and providing guidance to engineering staff where necessary.

Key responsibilities include drafting traffic guidance schemes, vehicle movement plans, and attending planning meetings. Additionally, the Traffic Operations Manager will liaise with site teams regarding traffic needs and requirements, distribute ROL and TGS trackers across projects, and track plant and equipment.

Another crucial aspect is allocating staff on all projects, communicating with delivery partners to engage outsourced resources, and ensuring correct information is sent out to site teams. The manager will also be responsible for managing traffic control hours, creating spreadsheets for tracking and allocating tasks, and making out-of-hours phone calls for cancellation or changes to works.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience as a Planner with relevant hands-on planning, high-level Rapid Plan experience, and strong Excel skills. They should possess great technical, analytical, and communication skills, as well as the ability to provide sound specialist advice based on best practice and project conditions.
