The role of the TBM Operations Supervisor is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient dismantling and removal of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs). This involves coordinating with teams and subcontractors, managing logistics, adhering to safety and environmental regulations, and collaborating closely with engineering and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and coordinate the demobilization of TBMs, including dismantling, removal, and transportation of equipment.
- Manage and supervise on-site crews and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to specification.
- Evaluate and maintain adherence to all safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout the demobilization process.
- Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and procurement teams to plan demobilization activities efficiently.
- Maintain accurate documentation of dismantling procedures, equipment condition, and asset tracking.
- Liaise with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with heavy lifting, confined space work, and environmental impact.
- Participate in daily pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislative and company procedures and reporting requirements.
- Monitor progress against the demobilization schedule and address any delays or issues proactively.
- Proven experience as a supervisor on TBM projects, with a focus on demobilization or mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of TBM systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic) and tunnelling operations.
- Experience in managing high-risk activities, including heavy lifts, confined space work, and decommissioning.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors in a dynamic environment.
- Solid knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in tunnelling and construction.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and meet tight deadlines.
