The role of Mining Operations Coordinator involves working closely with the Senior Mining Engineer to plan, organize and execute mining operations. This includes assisting with mine designs, production scheduling activities and monitoring day-to-day mining operations against agreed plans and quality control standards.

  • Assist with mine designs, dump designs, mining methods, equipment needs and recovery costs
  • Undertake production scheduling activities
  • Assist with ventilation surveys
  • Undertake short, medium and long-term planning activities
  • Develop drill and blast designs
  • Examine mining methods and equipment to investigate opportunities to improve
  • Monitor day-to-day mining operations against agreed plans and quality control standards
  • Support the review of operating costs
  • Project work as required
  • Undertake any other duties as may be specified from time to time by the Senior Mining Engineer or delegate

Key requirements include a tertiary qualification in mining engineering or related discipline, 2 years experience in underground mining operations, understanding of relevant legislation and regulations, skilled in mine planning and scheduling software, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a current WA C class manual driver's license.
