About the Job

The Commercial Distribution Manager will play a key role in ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction through streamlined order fulfillment processes and effective distribution strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations, including warehousing and transportation with 3PL providers, reverse logistics, and local relabeling/redressing operations as needed.
  • Oversee the Order-to-Cash process, including sales order processing, master data maintenance, and credit management to ensure timely order entry for customer invoicing and reconciliation.
  • Liaise with global logistics and trade compliance teams to track inbound deliveries, including customs clearance support, to guarantee on-time delivery, goods receipt, and goods release for distribution.
Performance and Compliance Management
  • Monitor and assess logistics vendors' performance, tracking operational metrics (KPIs) and regulatory reporting requirements related to local warehousing, distribution, and import activities.
  • Evaluate and ensure business processes associated with goods are efficient and compliant with local regulations.
  • Support serialization implementation and quality control measures.
Inventory Monitoring and Control
  • Collaborate with accounting and logistics service providers to retrieve proof of delivery documents for end-of-month accounting purposes.
  • Perform monthly inventory reconciliations with LSP transactions, internal holdings, and transactions, investigating and rectifying discrepancies and sharing results with regional planning and quality teams as necessary.
  • Liaise with accounting, LSP, and quality teams to coordinate annual stock counts, reporting, and discrepancy processes.
Export/Import, Warehouse, and Distribution Management
  • Support new distributor/LSP integrations as required.
  • Manage warehouse and distribution budgets effectively.
  • Liaise with local launch teams and regional planners to support product launches and variation management.
  • Collaborate with global logistics and trade compliance teams to manage in-country customs and freight services, oversee product issue and receipt, and liaise with accounting to meet reporting standards.
  • Provide logistical support and stock management for co-payment programs.
  • Establish change records and manage them to support new launches.
Wholesaler Partnerships and Relationship Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with wholesalers, establishing communication channels for forecasting and planning purposes.
  • Monitor relevant tenders, coordinate, and submit relevant documentation to support product utilization.
Process Improvement and Analysis
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to optimize efficiency and performance.
  • Lead and assist in creating and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.
  • Collaborate with quality teams on product complaints/deviations/CAPA incidents occurring during local warehousing/distribution/importation.
Business Collaboration and Partnership
  • Work closely with cross-functional colleagues (Finance, Marketing, Business Insights, etc.) to achieve ANZ business goals and priorities.
  • Be an active member of the regional supply chain working group, providing support to colleagues across the region as needed.
  • Evaluate long-term logistics models and vendors, providing recommendations in partnership with procurement to adapt to changing local business needs.
Qualifications and Skills
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry; minimum 3 years in logistics or customer service roles.
  • Understanding of global pharmaceutical regulatory requirements, GMP, and GDP.
  • Experience working in a complex global supply chain organization within the biopharma/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and build strategic relationships with internal (Quality, Commercial, Finance, etc.) and external (CMO, customs brokers, etc.) stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of export/import requirements and customs practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent English language proficiency.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
