**Job Title:** Assistant Watchhouse Officer

**Role Overview:** The Assistant Watchhouse Officer plays a vital role in the administration and supervision of persons in custody and visitors to the Watchhouse.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage prisoner files and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with QPS policy and procedure
  • Operate and monitor electronic surveillance and movement control systems, maintaining a secure environment
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Watchhouse records, adhering to QPS guidelines
  • Assist in the processing of persons received into custody, providing excellent customer service
  • Supervise and provide for the welfare, comfort, and security of prisoners, promoting a positive and respectful environment
  • Maintain records of prisoner health requirements, prioritizing their well-being and safety

**Requirements and Qualifications:** To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. A current Open C Class Driver's Licence is also required.

**Work Arrangements:** This position requires wearing an Assistant Watchhouse Officer uniform and adherence to the QPS Code of Dress and Appearance. You must be willing to work a shift work rotational roster, including 24-hour and night shifts.
