Innovation Product Development Manager

Overview

This role involves leading the development of new products from conception through to market launch.

Key responsibilities will include planning, timelines, approvals, financial assessment, and compliance. Coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones is also a crucial part of this role.

Role Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the stage-gate innovation process, ensuring projects are reviewed, optimised, and prioritised.

They will report project progress to senior management and keep stakeholders engaged. Additionally, they will promote a culture of innovation across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective product development strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Manage cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
  • Ensure all products meet commercial, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in product development.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in innovation management or product development.
  • A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to deliver business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of stage-gate, agile, or similar innovation frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organised, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
