The Head Nurse is responsible for managing the assigned area in a hospital setting. They oversee the daily operations, ensure effective and efficient functioning, and maintain compliance with policy and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.
- Managing administrative tasks, such as staffing, scheduling, and leave allocation.
- Maintaining accurate records and information related to patients, staff, and hospital activities.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve shared goals and objectives.
The Head Nurse must possess excellent leadership and management skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal abilities. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and current licensure are essential qualifications.
Additional requirements include:
- Minimum five years of post-registration experience or two years for Master's Degree holders.
- Broad clinical experience or a post-basic certificate in the relevant specialty area.
- High standards of leadership and management skills.
- Excellent written, spoken, and comprehension skills in English.
- Computer literacy.
