Procurement Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our Finance department at Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns.
About the Role: As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of receiving, dispatching, and accounting for goods within the hotel. You will lead a small team in the purchasing department, ensuring purchasing functions are completed accurately. You will oversee and process documentation, including approval of purchase orders, organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and improve efficiency.
- Lead a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful delivery of procurement objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and develop procurement solutions.
- Monitor and report on procurement metrics, including spend analysis and supplier performance.
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in procurement management, preferably in a hospitality or tourism industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
