Job Summary

Cruise Whitsundays is seeking a skilled Vessel Engineer to join the team on a casual basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily engine and machinery checks on assigned vessels.
  • Collaborate with the Master to manage safe operations of the vessel in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Diagnose system problems as they occur.
  • Ensure all maintenance requirements and actions are recorded accurately.
  • Coordinate and uphold effective preventative maintenance programmes.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Vessel Engineer with extensive knowledge of marine engines and systems, including installations.

  • Extensive knowledge of marine engines and systems, including installations.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing safety measures.
  • Exceptional guest service skills, ensuring guests' expectations are met.
  • Strong time management, organisational skills, and effective written/verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and intermediate computer literacy.

The ideal candidate will hold AMSA accredited or certificate of recognition of Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 NC (MED1), HLTAID011 Provide First Aid & Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, HLTAID015 Advance Oxygen Therapy, Responsible Service of Alcohol (QLD), National Police Clearance, Working with Children's Check (Blue Card).
