Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Chief Scientist – Cytogenomics to join our team in the GD QLD laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all technical, operational, and financial aspects of the laboratory, as well as supervising and providing scientific support to technical and operational employees.
Key Responsibilities- Manage laboratory quality assurance processes and compliance in consultation with the Quality and Risk Manager.
- Ensure ongoing adherence to NPAAC and ISO standards, as measured by successful NATA accreditation and external QAP performance.
- Manage clinical governance processes in consultation with the Chief Genetic Pathologist.
- Be responsible for clinical risk mitigation and escalate clinical incidents to the Chief Genetic Pathologist.
- Provide strategic leadership for the delivery of national Cytogenomics testing.
- Responsible for the analysis, interpretation, reporting, and validation of results within Cytogenomics.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in cytogenomics and laboratory management. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science or related discipline, relevant postgraduate qualifications, and significant leadership experience.
