About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our In Room Dining team at The Star Sydney. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of kitchen operations and ensuring that every dish that leaves the kitchen is of the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff to achieve exceptional food quality and presentation
  • Develop and implement menu planning and pricing strategies to drive revenue growth
  • Conduct on-the-job training and mentorship programs to enhance team skills and knowledge
  • Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to ensure seamless kitchen operations and high standards of food safety
  • Mentor and develop junior chefs to retain talent and drive career progression
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking styles and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full working rights to commit to a minimum of 40 hours per week
