Therapeutic Youth Care Specialist

We are seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our care team as Therapeutic Youth Care Specialists. In this role, you will play a vital part in making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in out-of-home care.

The Role:
  • Assist children and young people to fulfill their potential and achieve what is important to them through day-to-day provision of care, nurturing, and safety.
  • Maintain a quality care environment that is safe, clean, and personalized to those living there.
  • Document events and developments related to care provision.
  • Teach capacity building skills to children with disabilities.
  • Ensure NDIS plans are accessible for children while in care.
  • Utilize trauma-informed practices and supports in day-to-day care provision.
  • Provide behavior support, therapeutic interventions, and safety during crisis situations.
  • Support young people in developing essential life skills, including education, vocational training, and independent living.
  • Encourage social engagement, recreation, and community involvement.
  • Collaborate to develop and implement individualized support plans.
About You:

We are looking for individuals with a passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support. Experienced in offering support to individuals with disabilities and complex support needs, promoting independence and fulfilling lives.

  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex support needs.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and practices.
