Residential Youth Worker Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Residential Youth Worker and contribute to the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual who can provide stability, consistency, and security for children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To embed strong practice frameworks into daily habits and work collaboratively with care teams.
  • To provide essential needs for children and young people, including cooking, meal planning, budgeting, shopping, and cleaning.
  • To engage with stakeholders within the community to support the development of children and young people.
  • To work both autonomously and as part of a care team.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV or higher in Youth and Community Services or related field.
  • Current blue card (or willing to obtain).
  • Open Driver's license.
  • LCS clearance obtained within the last 2 years (or willing to obtain).
  • Strong personal values, including integrity, dignity, compassion, diversity, and excellence.
  • Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Minimum 6-12 months experience working with children/young people with complex behaviours, mental health, trauma backgrounds, and/or disability.
  • Experience working within Child Protection Residential Care Programs, with an understanding of the complexities that come with working in this environment.
  • Experience attending multi-disciplinary meetings and adhering to behavioural and safety plans as provided by external therapeutic specialists and stakeholders.
