Family Preservation and Reunification Practitioner

  • About the Role

  • CatholicCare Victoria is a leading provider of family services, committed to building thriving communities through innovative solutions.

  • The Family Services program provides a continuum of support to families in need, ranging from parenting support to intensive interventions with families at risk of placement in care.

  • We are seeking a skilled Family Preservation and Reunification Practitioner to join our team of experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complex Case Work

  • Working with the Best Interest Case Practice Framework and Response Practice Modules, provide assessment and time-limited case practice interventions that lead to improved outcomes for children.

  • Coordinate, facilitate, and deliver rapid, culturally safe, flexible, and intensive services to children and their families.

  • Provide services to families referred to the program through the Family Preservation and Reunification Response.

Requirements:
  • Qualifications and Experience

  • A professional qualification in Social Work, Welfare, or other relevant tertiary study.

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working within the Child Protection or Family Services sectors, or other service providing direct case work to families and children.

  • Advanced knowledge and application of relevant theories, intervention approaches, and understanding of the causes of family breakdown, child safety, and child development.
