We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified building and compliance officer to join our legal, compliance, and enforcement team on a permanent full-time basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking compliance investigations, managing and assessing complying developments and part 6 certificate applications, and providing principal certifying services to customers involved in building construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake compliance investigations and enforcement action
- Manage and assess complying developments and part 6 certificate applications
- Provide principal certifying services to customers involved in building construction
Requirements:
- Achieving tertiary qualifications in building surveying or a recognised qualification for a building surveyor by fair trading NSW (or near completion)
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant building and planning legislation
- Demonstrated experience in the management of investigations and enforcement action
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to the provision of excellent customer service
- Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively as part of a team environment
- Current class C drivers licence
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to WHS and EEO principles
- Registered certifier holding minimum category of accreditation of building inspector under the 'building and development certifiers regulation 2020'
- Practical experience in a similar role as a building surveyor/compliance officer
