Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Data Governance Expert to support our Defence projects across the capability lifecycle in Brisbane or Canberra. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of integrated solutions, ensuring data is effectively managed, governed, and leveraged to support performance, compliance, and decision-making.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective data management frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with Defence and Commonwealth standards. They will also ensure data integrity, accuracy, and traceability across technical, engineering, and logistics domains.

This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimise data governance and utilisation, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and information flow. The expert will also support the establishment and maintenance of secure, accessible data repositories with appropriate metadata, version control, and access protocols.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Data Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years' experience in data management within Defence or a highly regulated technical environment.
  • Sound understanding of Defence data standards and artefacts.
  • Proficient in data governance, lifecycle management, and configuration control.
  • Experience using document and data management systems.
