About the Role

Central Coast Council is seeking a highly skilled High-Performance Mechanical Asset Specialist to join our team in Erina Works Depot. This permanent full-time role offers an exciting opportunity for experienced Fitters and Machinists to work on mechanical assets in a workshop and on sites, including treatment plants and water and sewer networks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring assets reach designed operating life through scheduled maintenance and reactive repairs to mechanical process equipment. As part of this dynamic and customer-focused team, you will have the opportunity to work on various projects, develop your skills, and contribute to the growth of the Central Coast region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform condition assessments of mechanical assets, including pump units, to identify areas for improvement and optimize performance
  • Maintain and repair mechanical equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve asset performance and reduce downtime
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Craftsman's Certification and Certificate of Proficiency in Fitting and Machining, combined with ongoing professional development
  • Current MR Driver's Licence
  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar mechanical workshop environment, with expertise in manual lathes, radial drills, and universal mills
  • Ability to perform work on mechanical assets within headworks, treatment plants, water and sewer networks, and residential environments, assessing risks and ensuring safety
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic computer programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, GIS, SCADA, and hardware such as tablets, phones, and computers
