About the Role

As a key member of our Newcastle Rod Mill Maintenance Reliability team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving plant reliability through Condition Based Health Analysis of equipment across the plant.

This involves utilizing tools such as Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, and Thermography to develop Predictive Maintenance Asset Strategies and provide input relating to Asset health.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing, implementing, and improving vibration, lubrication, and thermography-based predictive maintenance programs, including maintenance of condition monitoring tools and systems
  • Planning and executing CM data collection and analysis as per schedule
  • Recording CM findings and reporting on defects found in a timely manner using a reporting system
  • Recommending actions based on interpretation of condition monitoring data using CMMS (e.g. SAP)
  • Building relationships and providing technical support to the maintenance and operations teams
  • Implementing maintenance strategies and programs, identifying opportunities for improvement by using the latest in data analytics techniques
  • Training and mentoring teams on balancing high-speed equipment and laser alignment

In this role, you will work closely with the maintenance and operations teams to ensure the effective implementation of condition monitoring and predictive maintenance strategies.

We are looking for an individual with strong analytical and technical skills, along with high-level report writing and influencing skills.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualification and/or reliability engineering background
  • Previous experience in Condition Monitoring and lubrication
  • Working experience with data analysis, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Projects, and SAP or equivalent CMMS experience
  • Previous use of safety and risk assessment tools such as FMEA, Job Hazard Analysis, and Take 5's etc.
  • Willingness to work outside of office hours/respond to after-hour call-ins as dictated by Plant Maintenance activities and requirements
