Grounds and Maintenance Role

This is a key position responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of school facilities and grounds. The successful candidate will be involved in performing safety inspections, maintenance, and light repairs as directed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and upkeep of school facilities and grounds, including lawn mowing, whipper snipping, weeding, rubbish pickup, leaf collection, and pruning.
  • Effective management of equipment within a designated work area.
  • Continuing professional development to enhance job performance.
  • Flexibility and reliability in working within tight timelines and with minimal supervision in a team environment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Aptitude, experience, and/or relevant qualifications to fulfill specific requirements of the role.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop good relationships with staff members, students, and contractors at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of rules and regulations.

Work Environment:

The Grounds and Maintenance employee will service two schools: Avondale Primary School and Aberfeldie Primary School. Three days per week will be spent at Avondale Primary School, and two days per week at Aberfeldie Primary School.

Location:

Avondale Heights, 12 kilometres north-west of Melbourne's CBD.
