Child Counsellor Position

About the Role: Centrecare is a leading provider of professional counselling services. We are seeking experienced and qualified Child Counsellors to join our team in Bunbury.

  • Job Description: Provide trauma-informed counselling to children, young people, and families, including assessment, case planning, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Key Responsibilities: Offer early intervention and family support to promote child development, healthy attachment, protective behaviors, and life skills. Conduct risk assessments and safety planning for clients affected by family and domestic violence, including outreach services as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development, or a related field. At least 3 years' experience in child counselling and working with families experiencing complex needs, including domestic violence.

  • Essential Skills: Strong background in child counselling, family and domestic violence, and trauma-informed practice. Ability to work within Centrecare's Therapeutic Framework, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based services that promote safety, wellbeing, and development for children and their families.
