About us
We are seeking a qualified Counsellor to join our Family & Relationship Services program in Bunbury. This is a full-time Level 5 position on a maximum-term contract.
The role involves providing trauma-informed counselling to children, young people, and families, including assessment, case planning, and therapeutic interventions. It also includes offering early intervention and family support to promote child development, healthy attachment, protective behaviors, and life skills.
The successful applicant will have a strong background in child counselling, family and domestic violence, and trauma-informed practice, with a passion for supporting children and young people's wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing individual and group therapy sessions to clients affected by trauma, abuse, or neglect.
- Collaborating with other professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the needs of clients and their families.
- Conducting risk assessments and safety planning for clients at risk of harm.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development, or a related field.
- At least 3 years' experience in child counselling and working with families experiencing complex needs, including domestic violence.
- Experience in case management, intake, assessment, and referral processes.
- A current National Police Certificate (valid within the last 12 months).
- A valid Working with Children Card.
