About This Opportunity

The University of Queensland is seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to fill the role of Associate Lecturer, Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Indigenous Health Education and Engagement. This position is a key part of the University's commitment to increasing the representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the medical profession.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Indigenous health and education, and will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the development and delivery of Indigenous health education programs. They will also be responsible for engaging with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, and for promoting inclusivity and a sense of belonging among students and staff.

This is a teaching-focused position, and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development and delivery of curriculum, as well as to provide mentorship and support to students. They will also be expected to engage in research and other scholarly activities, and to contribute to the development of the University's Indigenous health education strategy.

About You

We are seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who has a strong background in Indigenous health and education, and who is passionate about contributing to the development and delivery of Indigenous health education programs. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the social and cultural determinants of health, and will be able to develop and deliver curriculum that is relevant and meaningful to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and will be able to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, staff, and community members. They will also have a strong commitment to social justice and equity, and will be able to contribute to the development of the University's Indigenous health education strategy.
