Job Title: Supply Chain Specialist

This is a challenging role for a Supply Chain Specialist to oversee the supply chain operations in our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and monitoring strategic plans, managing relationships with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of products to customers.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role, strong relationship-building skills with 3rd party growers, business planning and execution capabilities, exceptional communication and presentation skills, demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, and a self-starter attitude.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute strategic planning to optimize volumes, specifications, quality, and regional risk management;
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery and minimize freight costs;
  • Coordinate product sourcing and procurement to meet category DIFOT targets;
  • Work closely with sales teams to determine cost-effective distribution solutions;
  • Monitor and communicate stock levels internally;
  • Provide recommendations on new product lines or extensions;
  • Support New Product Development teams to identify suitable products;
  • Manage seed/breeding companies and nurseries for technical support and quality improvement;
  • Allocate returnable packaging efficiently and balance weekly inventory.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar role in fresh produce is essential;
  • Strong relationship-building skills with 3rd party growers;
  • Business planning and execution capabilities to deliver customer expectations;
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills;
  • A self-starter with a pro-active, persuasive, and flexible attitude;
  • Tertiary qualifications in agriculture, horticulture, or related discipline (preferred);
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
