About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Officer to play a critical role in the success of our Infrastructure Recovery (IR) Program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the program, ensuring accurate tracking and implementation of approved recovery works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control finances for the $150M IR program, ensuring accurate tracking and implementation of approved recovery works.
  • Analyse large datasets from Authority and prepare detailed financial reports.
  • Ensure all procurement purchases align with disaster recovery eligibility criteria.
  • Collaborate with various teams: internal/external finance, field crews, external stakeholders (including Transport for NSW).
  • Responsible for the monthly build-up and precise preparation of claims for submission to TfNSW.
  • Participate in high-level meetings with TfNSW, representing the council's financial interests.
  • Maintain impeccable records, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all reporting and claims.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a finance officer position.
  • Strong software skills, particularly in Excel-must be able to manipulate data and create comprehensive reports.
  • Strong attention to detail is critical; accuracy is non-negotiable.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex datasets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working within a council environment, particularly with the Authority system, is highly desirable but not essential.
